All young artists from all ages are invited to participate! The contest theme is Saving Endangered Species.
On May 15, 2015 we celebrate Endangered Species Day. We invite you to learn about endangered species, the threats they are facing and importance of conservation efforts to protect them. Young artists are encouraged to express their knowledge with their creativity and art skills. All contest entries must be submitted before May 1, 2015, with a filled submission form. Participation is free. Winners will be chosen from 5 categories: preschool and younger, K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12. Winning artworks will participate in a special exhibition and receive a prize.
Participation Guidelines:
- Each artwork submitted must be submitted together with a submission form.
- Each participant can enter multiple times, but each entry requires a separate form for each artwork submitted.
- Artwork should depict a threatened or endangered species.
- Artwork must be submitted by May 1, 2015. Late entries will not be judged.
- Submission may be done through participating school offices or mailed directly to: Rinat Medalsy at Saving Endangered Species, 30 Bear Creek Drive, Buellton, CA 93427.
- All entries become the property of SES and will not be returned. We encourage you to copy artwork before submitting.
Eligibility: children from all ages are eligible to enter.
Winners will be chosen for 5 categories: preschool and younger, K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12.
Artwork Guidelines:
- Theme: Endangered Species. The artwork must depict a threatened or endangered species.
- Artwork must be the entrant's original creation. Computer generated images and traced images will not be judged.
- No lettering, words, signatures, or initials may appear on the front of the artwork.
- Size: No size limit. Every size is acceptable.
- Medium: Every medium is acceptable.
Judging and Prizes:
- Winners will be chosen for five categories.
- Each winner will receive a prize and a special certificate.
- All winning artworks will participate in a special exhibition.
- Judging criteria: Concept, Composition, Color, Expression.
